Based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Export Trading Group (ETC) is the largest East, Central and Southern African Agro Processor and Warehousing Group. ETC ccommodities include Maize (White and Yellow), Millet, Rice, Pigeon Peas, Raw Cashew nut, Chick Peas, Cocoa, Cow Peas, Cloves, Green Grams, Black Pepper, Black Gram, Coriander Seed, Sesame Seed, Ginger, Soya, Gum Arabic, Groundnuts, Fertilizers, Sorghum. We have over 1 200 000 tons of commodity totaling $420 million in turn over. The group storage capacity is 1.069 million MT in more than 500 sourcing / warehouse locations in 9 East and Southern African countries. We have out grower schemes in Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, Zambia and Malawi and agro processing plants in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia and Mozambique. The companys llogistics infrastructure covers a container terminal, trucking fleet and freight forwarding.Additionally, Export Trading Group is one of the largest suppliers to the World Food Programme in East and Southern Africa. During 2007 and 2008, the Group supplied 94 000 tons of maize to the WFP for the following countries: Zambia (4 600 tons), Malawi (18 536 tons), Mozambique (24 594 tons), Tanzania (5 525 tons), Ethiopia (20 000 tons), South Africa (7 000 tons)North Korea (14 000 tons).ETC develops commercial, block, out-grower and smallholder farming schemes designed to increase the crop production and develop sustainability in the agriculture community. This enables a steady source of supply, enabling us to develop storage and processing facilities and transportation systems. The related benefits to farmers include increased income, access to services through our centers. We also develop ICT technologies through our Techno Brain division which helps utilize and drive the development of markets and rural infrastructure. Our ICT solutions include NGO program monitoring and evaluation, microfinance services portals and farmer information management systems. Enabling access to rural financial services allows rural people to invest in inputs and local enterprises and to take advantage of new technologies to increase their incomes.
