3303 Silicon Metal

Adding metal silicon to the refractory can first react with oxygen to form a new mineral phase closed porosity, improve the density, prevent the penetration of slag iron, to improve the product's high temperature resistance, wear resistance and oxidation resistance. Therefore, it is widely used in refractory materials such as steelmaking furnaces, kilns and kiln utensils. In the metallurgical casting industry, silicon metal is used as a non-iron base alloy additive and silicon steel alloy agent to improve the hardenability of steel. Silicon metal can also be used as a reducing agent for some metals, for new ceramic alloys, etc.
